General English 9am-3pm

You can learn General English to improve your English communication skills. We have a level to suit you: Beginner, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, and Advanced. Each level focuses on improving spoken English, listening skills, reading, writing, and grammar. You can start any Monday and study for as long as you like (depending on your visa). The minimum length of study is 2 weeks. At the end of the course you will receive a New Horizon certificate to confirm successful completion.

General English 9am-12noon

This is designed for visitors who just want to brush up their English while on holiday in New Zealand and is not recommended for the more serious student.

Our teaching is based on the latest Communicative Language Teaching so you will have to do a lot of talking and activities during every class. Every teacher has a different style and every student has a different reason for learning English so your teacher will try to help all of you the best he/she can.

Morning:
Start 9am - 12pm (Break 10.30am - 11.00am)

9:15 am	Work from a textbook at your level
10:30 am	Present diaries and homework for marking. Tea time is until 11am.
11:00 am	Vocabulary extension / Reading / Pair or group work
11:15 am	Open activities-reinforcement / dictation / writing / problem solving / functional / discussion / pronunciation / listening etc.
12:00 noon	Lunchtime – you can eat lunch at school, at a café, at the beach, at the park or you can go shopping.

Afternoon:
Start 1pm - 3pm (Break 2.00pm - 2:05pm)

Graduation

Every Friday we have a graduation ceremony for the students who have finished their course. It is held at 10:40am in the Student Room. There will also be important notices and information.
