English Language School by the Sea Napier, New Zealand.

BEC

More than ever, a good knowledge of English is needed to succeed in international business and commerce. If you can show you have relevant language skills you will have a great advantage in the job market and much greater flexibility if you want to work abroad.

An internationally recognised business qualification can help to show that you have learned English to an appropriate standard and can use it in a professional context.

There are three Business English Certificate exams - BEC Preliminary, BEC Vantage and BEC Higher - which test English language ability used in the context of business.  They are ideal if you are preparing for a career in business.

Each exam is held three times a year and tests reading, writing, listening and speaking.  The exam fees are $310.00 for BEC Preliminary and $320.00 for BEC Vantage and Higher.

A minimum of 6 students is required to hold a BEC class, however if there are fewer than 6, individual assistance outside of class may be given to students to prepare them for the exam.  The course is 9 weeks long, and full time study is recommended.
