We will place you with a carefully selected homestay, based on the information that you give us on your application form. Living with a local family will give you a great opportunity to improve conversational skills. You will be provided with your own room, shared facilities, breakfast and dinner on school days and 3 meals a day at weekends. We do not put two or more students from the same country with a Homestay unless requested. Our Homestays will make you feel part of their family.

Janey Grant, our Homestay Director, personally inspects every home and she will help you when you arrive at New Horizon and during your stay. Each homestay has also been checked by the New Zealand Police.

Students come to New Zealand to learn English and to experience the New Zealand lifestyle.

To fully understand the New Zealand lifestyle it is important to join in with the everyday life of your homestay and try to become part of the family.

If you have any problems our Homestay Director will help you and arrange for another homestay if necessary.

If a student wishes to change homestays they must give at least one week's notice and pay a fee of $75.
